Tuna Sirloin Burgers: Healthy Recipe

Tuna is one of the so-called “blue fish”. It has an oily and dark skin, with an intense aroma. In addition, each 100 grams provide 200 kcal and 23 g of protein.

Ingredients

  • 400 grams of fresh tuna without bones
  • 2 eggs
  • bread crumbs (amount needed)
  • milk (amount needed)
  • salt to taste
  • ginger and / or parsley (optional)

How to Make Tuna Sirloin Burgers

  1. Make sure the tuna has no bones. If there are, remove them with the help of tweezers.
  2. Cut the tuna sirloin into approximately 1 cm cubes. Add the salt and stir so that all the fish comes out equally. Reservation.
  3. Break the eggs into a bowl. Add the ginger and parsley (this step is optional) and beat. Reservation.
  4. Soak the bread crumbs in milk. The idea is to give a smooth texture to the tuna sirloin burgers. We recommend you start with the crumb of a small bread and a splash of milk. The crumb should be moist but not runny.
  5. Pour the milk-soaked crumb into the egg bowl. Bat.
  6. Add the tuna cubes and mix with your hands until you get a homogeneous dough. If it is too liquid, add bread crumbs. If there is a lack of liquid, add milk. To give it more elasticity, add more crumb soaked in milk.
  7. Let the mixture rest in the fridge for at least half an hour.
  8. When it’s cold, you can assemble your tuna sirloin burgers. To do this, take a little of the mixture with the help of a spoon, make a ball and crush it with your hands. With the help of your fingers, shape it round.
  9. Grill the burgers over medium heat until cooked through.
  10. Serve accompanied as you like.

Garlic tuna burgers

Red tuna burger

Ingredients

  • 300 grams of red tuna sirloin
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 clove garlic
  • breadcrumbs (amount needed)
  • juice of 1/2 lemon
  • ginger (optional)
  • salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. Clean the tuna if you didn’t buy it clean. Make sure it doesn’t have any spines.
  2. Cut the tuna into small cubes. The more chopped it is, the better. Season to taste and reserve.
  3. Peel the garlic clove. The easiest way to do this is to place it in a jar and shake it : you will see how it comes off all the skin. Then chop it fine.
  4. Mix the tuna with the minced garlic.
  5. Add the eggs, ginger, and lemon juice. Mix well.
  6. Go slowly incorporating the breadcrumbs until you get a dough with a firm but malleable texture.
  7. Let the dough rest in the fridge for at least 40 minutes. In this way, the flavors will permeate well.
  8. Remove the dough from the fridge and prepare the hamburgers as we have seen in the previous recipe.
  9. Cook until they are well cooked and serve on the plate, accompanied by salad or on bread.
