Hawaiian Chicken Kabobs

You don’t have to travel to any exotic island to eat this delicacy. You can enjoy delicious Hawaiian chicken kabobs in your own home.  They are perfect for a Saturday night with friends or a Sunday lunchtime with the family. We teach you how to prepare them.

Hawaiian chicken kabobs recipe

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts defatted, skinless and boneless
  • Garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 red bell peppers
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil (15 ml)
  • 2 onions
  • 8 cherry tomatoes
  • ½ cup of water (125 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar (15 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar (15 g)
  • ½ pineapple
  • 1 handful of coriander

Preparation

Dish with Hawaiian Chicken Kabobs

  1. Cut the chicken into cubes, season with the garlic and season. Pour in the olive oil and impregnate well. Place in a plastic bag and refrigerate for a few minutes.
  2. In a saucepan add the water, the pineapple cut into cubes, the sugar and the vinegar and let it cook until it boils. Put on a low heat and continue cooking until it reduces the amount. Let cool for a few minutes.
  3. Pass the previous preparation to the food processor with the cilantro and mix to obtain a green sauce. Cover with plastic wrap and put in the refrigerator.
  4. Heat the grill or barbecue and cut all the vegetables into cubes.
  5. Assemble the skewers : put a chicken cube, an onion cube, a pepper cube and start over. At the end it ends with a cherry tomato.
  6. When you have finished with all the skewers, brush with olive oil and top with the pineapple and coriander sauce.
  7. Cook over the fire until everything is golden. You can prepare more sauce and then dip the skewers in it.

Hawaiian chicken kabobs and mango sauce

These Hawaiian skewers are very easy to make and therefore “allow” different variants in the sauce or in some of the ingredients. In this case, you will prepare it in a similar way to the previous one, but with a delicious mango sauce.

Ingredients for the kabobs:

  • ½ cup of pineapple juice (125 ml)
  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil (45 ml)
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce (30 ml)
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar (30 g)
  • 1 tablespoon of chopped onion (15 g)
  • 1 teaspoon of grated or minced ginger (5 g)
  • 750 grams of chicken breast without skin
  • 1 pineapple

Ingredients for the mango sauce

  • 1 onion
  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil (45 ml)
  • 2 mangoes
  • ¼ cup of orange juice (62 ml)
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • The juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 tablespoons of honey (30 g)

Preparation

  1. Mix the pineapple juice with the soy sauce, olive oil, brown sugar, finely chopped garlic, ginger, and onion.
  2. Put the chicken and the diced pineapple on the skewers alternately.
  3. Pour a little of the sauce and bring to the fire to cook.
  4. During cooking add a little more of the sauce.
  5. Meanwhile, prepare the mango sauce, mix the chopped onion with the olive oil and let it rest for 10 minutes. Add the chopped mangoes, the lemon and orange juice, the finely chopped garlic, and the honey.
  6. Cook everything in a saucepan until the mangoes are tender. Let it cool and mix in the blender glass.
  7. Serve the Hawaiian chicken kabobs with the mango sauce.

Hawaiian Chicken Kabobs with Greek Yogurt Recipe

Chicken skewers on the grill

Ingredients

  • ½ red pepper
  • ¼ onion
  • ¼ green bell pepper
  • 5 cherry tomatoes
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of cucumber (40 g)
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil (15 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice (15 ml)
  • ½ teaspoon of dill (2.5 g)
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 cup of broccoli (200 g)
  • 200 g boneless chicken breast
  • 50 g Greek yogurt
  • Salt and pepper

Preparation

  1. Prepare the high heat.
  2. Season the chicken with salt and pepper. Cut into cubes just like vegetables.
  3. Alternate all these ingredients on the skewers.
  4. Spread with olive oil and cook on the grill
  5. Prepare the sauce by mixing the Greek yogurt, cucumber, dill, lemon juice, and minced garlic clove. Add the broccoli.
  6. Accompany the Hawaiian chicken kabobs with this delicious sauce.
